Senior IT Product Manager – Employee Experience
Location: San Francisco, CA or Mountain View, CA
About Databricks IT
At Databricks, we are dedicated to enabling data teams to tackle the most challenging problems in the world, beginning with empowering our own employees.
The Databricks IT organization operates as a product-led team, developing intelligent and scalable systems designed to enhance the workday of every Brickster, making it simpler, faster, and more interconnected. We are reimagining the interaction between employees and managers with internal tools, crafting a cohesive, AI-driven experience that integrates data, insights, and workflows across the enterprise.
We are seeking a Senior IT Product Manager to spearhead the strategy and execution for our Employee Experience, an internal product that consolidates all employment-related workflows—such as onboarding, performance, compensation, and engagement—into a seamless experience.
The Opportunity
At Databricks, managers and employees engage with numerous systems weekly, from Workday to performance and onboarding tools, often having to switch contexts and duplicate efforts. This team is tasked with defining and delivering a product vision to simplify and unify the employee experience, creating an integrated layer that sits atop our systems of record to present the right tasks, insights, and actions all in one place.
In this role, you will own a product area within the employee experience domain, shaping the future of Databricks' internal operations: how we design, measure, and continuously enhance the management of teams, careers, and daily tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Vision: Define and refine the long-term strategy for a unified employee and manager experience, aligning with Databricks’ product-led IT vision. Transform goals such as minimizing friction and boosting engagement into actionable roadmaps focused on the needs of employees and managers. Advocate for a persona-based approach that prioritizes the needs of users over the limitations of existing systems.
- Drive Product Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders across People, IT, and Engineering to design connected, user-friendly workflows that integrate multiple systems. Lead discovery, user research, and prioritization to implement scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Execute and Measure: Establish success metrics (such as adoption, efficiency, and engagement) and leverage insights to inform iterations and storytelling around the product.
