How will you make a difference?
As the Senior Manager of Shared Services at Wabtec, you will lead a diverse team of software and test engineers dedicated to the innovation, enhancement, and upkeep of software tools, simulators, automation frameworks, AI-driven solutions, and workflow tools aimed at boosting validation and software efficiency within TP&A. This pivotal role involves overseeing the execution of multiple critical projects concurrently, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality deliveries.
Your role will also encompass mentoring and coaching your team, promoting technical advancement, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
What will your typical day look like?
- Lead product initiatives by managing a skilled team for successful project delivery.
- Formulate and implement both short-term and long-term strategies that enhance delivery cycles, product quality, and operational efficiency, including process optimization and automation.
- Design and execute AI-driven strategies to elevate productivity, efficiency, and quality across TP&A offerings.
- Utilize your deep knowledge of engineering methodologies and tools to ensure reliable and scalable product delivery.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and contribute to product and project strategies through strong project management skills.
- Assess tools, technologies, and methodologies to equip teams with the necessary capabilities for timely project completion.
- Engage in talent management activities, including resource planning, recruitment, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching to foster excellent team performance.
- Monitor, measure, and report on progress toward quality and delivery goals using clear metrics like project burndown, coverage, and performance indicators.
- Collaborate with product management and commercial teams to pinpoint and implement efficiency-driven strategies in alignment with business goals.
- Challenge existing processes and advocate for continuous improvement while upholding high standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
- Represent the engineering team in cross-functional forums and leadership updates, providing insights and progress reports.
