About the Team:
The App Engine Management Center at ServiceNow is a robust application deployment pipeline designed to package, validate, and deliver updates and applications efficiently and consistently. Our team focuses on building, maintaining, and troubleshooting backend systems primarily based on Java, with some JavaScript components catering to specific platform functionalities. As part of the Platform and App Engine organization, we are on the lookout for a talented Engineering Manager who possesses strong technical expertise, exceptional troubleshooting capabilities, and proven leadership skills to steer our team. This role will be pivotal in driving customer-centric adoption of ReleaseOps, minimizing setup efforts, and reducing support case tasks while delivering features informed by real customer insights. The focus is on high-impact backend systems where secure practices, compliance, and the protection of customer data during deployment are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable software components with a strong focus on performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions, owning features from design to delivery.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing existing product capabilities.
- Integrate automated testing into development workflows to ensure consistent quality across releases.
- Engage in design and code reviews to uphold best practices in performance, maintainability, and testability.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies encompassing functional, regression, integration, and performance aspects.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by sharing best practices in engineering and quality.
- Encourage a culture of craftsmanship, knowledge-sharing, and quality practices across the team.
