Key Responsibilities
- Lead the innovative design and development of cutting-edge mechanical systems, products, and components.
- Perform assessments on strength, stiffness, and fatigue of components, assemblies, and complete systems using both linear static and non-linear analyses.
- Utilize conceptual analysis and hand calculations to validate engineering designs and evaluate structural performance.
- Design and develop integrated cooling and heating systems for electric vehicles (EVs) and power electronics.
- Select and specify appropriate materials and components while creating detailed CAD drawings.
- Oversee the generation and upkeep of system and component-level Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to validate design viability.
- Identify and troubleshoot design or manufacturing issues with CAD and analysis tools.
- Understand regulatory standards and define testing protocols to ensure system designs meet durability, reliability, and functionality requirements.
- Deliver schematics, final designs, and release drawings in accordance with project specifications.
- Assist in the creation of Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI) documents, supporting supplier engagement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance cost, manufacturability, and quality of engineering designs.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to technicians and aid system production.
- Facilitate the engineering release process from initial concept through to finalized drawings.
- Lead change management processes, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and develop the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) schedule.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
