Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining, Geological, or Civil EngineeringMinimum of 10 years of experience in mining engineering, with a focus on mine planning and resource optimization, including at least 2 years of operational experienceRegistered professional engineer in the US or Canada, or the ability to obtain registration upon hireQualified Person (QP) under SEC S-K 1300 or NI 43-101 reporting standardsProficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, Minesched, Deswik, Carlson, and GIS)Experience with pit optimization softwareStrong background in production planning and scheduling (preferably Deswik or MineSched)Expertise in writing technical reports compliant with SEC S-K 1300, NI 43-101, or JORC guidelinesOutstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsA valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential

Join RESPEC as a Senior Mining Engineer at our Vancouver, BC office and contribute to exciting projects in the mining sector. This role demands a seasoned professional adept at evaluating resource and reserve models, performing comprehensive mine pit or stope optimizations, and designing both open pit and underground layouts. You'll also be responsible for waste dump and haul road designs, while guiding clients through project development.
In addition, you will estimate equipment and personnel requirements, calculate capital and operating costs, conduct project economic evaluations, prepare detailed technical reports, and engage in business development activities. Leading junior engineers in executing mining projects will be a key part of your responsibilities, and occasional domestic and international travel may be required for site visits and client meetings.
