Responsibilities
- As a key member of our integrated cost estimating team, you will engage in a comprehensive range of cost analyses, economic evaluations, and engineering support while directly collaborating with program offices. You will also assist in the preparation and presentation of management-level briefings as required.
- Your work will encompass parametric cost estimating, life cycle cost analysis, cost estimating relationships, model development, cost risk analysis, performance measurement (earned value), project forecasting, risk assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and software cost estimating. Additional responsibilities may include supporting strategy development, scheduling, market research, evaluation criteria development, pre-solicitation documentation review, RFP documentation, Independent Program Review documentation, cost estimates, key decision point preparations, trade studies, and providing subject matter expertise during proposal evaluations.
Skills and Qualifications
- We are looking for highly motivated professionals with strong quantitative and analytical skills for a senior-level cost estimator position, particularly focusing on construction.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in technical cost estimating and analysis within the Air Force, Navy, Army, MDA, or a comparable Department of Defense (DoD) agency is required.
- Experience in cost analysis for Air Force ACAT I level acquisition programs is essential.
- Background in supporting ICBM programs or other DoD weapon systems, as well as experience with large, complex nuclear weapons systems or closely related Government weapon systems, is preferred.
- Experience in collecting and normalizing cost, technical, and programmatic data from Government and Industry sources. Familiarity with the Defense Cost and Resource Center (DCARC) data collection process and demonstrated experience in analyzing CSDRs and CPRs is necessary. Knowledge of data sources such as DACIMS and/or AFTOC is advantageous.
- A general understanding of design documents and various construction trades and building systems is crucial.
- Proficiency in estimating software that utilizes RS Means Construction Cost Data and other historical databases is required.
- Strong ability to analyze data and develop effective cost estimating methods and tools is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project and Word.
