ICON is seeking a highly skilled Senior Printing Test Technician to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the effective, compliant, and high-performance testing of ICON’s innovative technology. Reporting directly to the Testing Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing test preparations, executing tests, managing material and printer logistics, and supporting troubleshooting, repairs, and part replacements.
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution and Leadership
- Understand daily shift success criteria to meet testing needs, schedules, and budget constraints.
- Coordinate the delivery and inventory of necessary materials to ensure team readiness.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with team members under pressure and across the ICON organization.
- Take ownership of the steady operation of machines or test rigs and collaborate with ICON teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Oversee all test build activities, including foundation preparation, top plate installation, shoring, and bond beams.
- Collaborate closely with other Senior Testing Technicians in Austin to ensure operational efficiency.
- Provide supervision and guidance to junior Testing Technicians in alignment with company policies and management directives.
- Manage site support equipment during shifts as necessary.
- Participate in build activities, including reinforcement adjustment and placement.
- Execute and document quality control measurements on material samples during operations.
Service and Repairs
- Coordinate and perform necessary repairs when printer issues arise, including parts coordination, replacements, and calibrations.
- Ensure proper printer mobility and setup by connecting and disconnecting electrical, pneumatic, and network cabling.
- Exhibit proficiency in terminating camlock power cables and EtherCAT cables.
- Navigate remotely into devices (printers, filling stations) and utilize Twincat for navigation, resets, and topology management.
- Effectively use a multimeter to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot systems virtually or in person using schematics or other documentation.
- Manage the inventory of replacement parts and coordinate their delivery, ensuring accurate record-keeping in ticketing systems.
- Update and maintain accurate work steps and status within the ticketing system for each service request.
