Join RTI as a Senior Product Manager and shape the future of real-time software in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sector. Our RTI Connext software is integral to over 500 defense programs across various domains including land, sea, air, and space. We are seeking an innovative product manager who has a deep understanding of emerging trends, especially in UAS, Autonomy, Maritime, and other mission systems.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the product strategy to enhance how Connext meets the needs of A&D customers. Your expertise will help translate mission requirements into actionable product needs, guide the roadmap in collaboration with R&D, and ensure that RTI’s platform effectively addresses the challenges faced by defense programs.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives on defining what solutions to create and why they matter, using customer insights, mission goals, and market trends to drive product decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and direct the A&D product strategy.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of UAS, autonomy, maritime, C-UAS, and JADC2/MOSA requirements to inform product development for distributed systems, security, real-time data, and interoperability.
- Effectively convert customer and mission requirements into clear product specifications, use cases, and roadmap proposals.
- Amplify the voice of the defense customer.
- Conduct comprehensive product discovery to identify pain points, operational workflows, constraints, and integration patterns.
- Validate roadmap initiatives with key customers and translate insights into actionable product strategies.
- Enhance RTI’s platform for A&D applications.
- Identify capability gaps and opportunities for growth in critical defense applications.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to prioritize essential capabilities for A&D adoption, including security, interoperability, platform support, performance, tooling, and integration.
- Work alongside Sales and Business Development to refine pricing, licensing, and overall product strategy to facilitate seamless adoption in target accounts.
- Partner across functions for successful product adoption.
- Collaborate with Sales, Business Development, and Marketing to articulate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions and differentiators.
- Develop strategic product positioning to empower Sales and BD teams to secure new business in key Department of Defense initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic go-to-market plans for key programs and partners by making informed resource allocation decisions and analyzing the ROI of existing initiatives.
