As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the advancement, construction, and enhancement of wind energy initiatives across Germany. This position serves as the principal technical liaison, tackling commercial, regulatory, and design challenges to ensure the effective execution of wind projects from initial development through to implementation. Our mission is to bolster Germany's renewable energy portfolio, with the possibility of engaging in projects internationally as needed. This role can be based in our German headquarters in Düsseldorf or in our regional offices located in Lingen and Berlin.
- Oversee the engineering phase of wind projects, managing technical assessments related to civil design, planning, cost evaluation, procurement, environmental permits, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and internal approvals. Conduct feasibility studies, assess constructability, perform risk assessments, and calculate CAPEX estimates from early development through to the operational phase of the wind farm.
- Act as the technical lead for turbine selection, early yield assessments, layout designs, transport routes, installation, and final testing discussions.
- Take charge of the Wind Turbines and Balance of Plant (BOP) scope during procurement, defining specifications and criteria, assessing technical proposals, and assisting in contract negotiations.
- Develop and assure the quality of technical specifications for wind turbine tenders.
- Ensure the quality of technical documentation for BOP tenders and align turbine supplier infrastructure requirements with BOP contracts.
- Manage the interfaces between civil and electrical BOP, along with turbine interfaces.
- Assist in technical due diligence initiatives.
- Engage with turbine suppliers to stay updated on market offerings and technological advancements.
- Supervise external engineers and design services as necessary.
- Plan, lead, and document project design reviews to ensure technical consistency with economic, scheduling, and regulatory objectives.
