ABOUT THE POSITION
As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work under the guidance of designated project leadership. Your projects may encompass new constructions and renovations across sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and perform intricate designs for ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for HVAC systems in large-scale buildings, working independently across all Mechanical disciplines. Provide support in Plumbing and Fire Protection Designs when necessary.
Oversee, mentor, and offer technical guidance to designers and engineering teams.
Manage the work of junior staff, including the development and delivery of annual performance reviews.
Participate in the QAQC process as an independent reviewer.
Effectively communicate with clients and design team members.
Guide the application of engineering complexities concerning Energy Model software.
Create Revit/BIM models of construction drawings for HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration phases, including layouts, sketches, and detail drawings. Provide Revit/BIM modeling for plumbing and fire protection systems as needed.
Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
Review and approve shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Engage with clients and project team members, attending Owner, Architect, and Construction Administration meetings with a focus on project budgeting.
Lead or participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
Propose enhancements based on reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and streamline production efforts.
Assist in staff development activities, including work planning, budget development, and scheduling in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Respond to RFIs and review change orders during the preparation of construction documents.
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress. Attendance and participation in construction meetings are required, often necessitating physical site walk-throughs.
Represent the company in project-related activities, directing project activities as needed.
