ABOUT THE ROLE
As a vital member of our diverse team, you will operate under the guidance of designated project leaders. Your projects may encompass new constructions and renovations across educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Lead the intricate design processes for ductwork, piping, and equipment selection pertaining to plumbing and fire protection systems for large-scale buildings, with the ability to work independently across all Mechanical disciplines. Assist with HVAC designs as required.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to designers and the engineering team.
- Supervise less experienced staff, including conducting annual performance reviews.
- Contribute to the QAQC process and serve as an independent reviewer.
- Engage effectively with clients and design team members.
- Oversee engineering complexities associated with Energy Model software usage.
- Create Revit/BIM models for construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from the schematic design phase through construction administration, inclusive of layouts, sketches, and detail drawings as needed.
- Specify equipment such as water heaters, plumbing fixtures, water softeners, and pumping equipment.
- Review and approve shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Effectively interact with clients and project team members, participating in Owner, Architect, Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with an understanding of project budget constraints.
- Lead or participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
- Propose enhancements regarding standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and efficiency in production efforts.
