What You’ll Do:Collaborate with the Sales team to effectively communicate the Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to our customers.Lead technical engagements with customers during trial phases, demonstrating Datadog’s value and resolving any issues that arise.Close complex opportunities with advanced competitive insights, technical expertise, and credibility.Deliver engaging product and technical presentations to prospective clients.Keep precise records and feedback in our CRM system, documenting both wins and losses.Maintain proactive communication with customers and Datadog teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape.Who You Are:Dedicated to educating agencies about observability risks that impact their missions and capable of executing evaluation plans with clients.Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate both the mission benefits and technical advantages of our solutions.Experienced in programming/scripting with languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, or .NET.Bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.Comfortable with up to 4 hours of sitting and willing to travel to client sites.Available to travel up to 45% of the time via car, train, or air.

Join Datadog as a Senior Sales Engineer focused on the Federal sector, where you will be a pivotal technical advisor, delivering compelling sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value engagements. You will collaborate closely with customers and strategic partners to identify and close opportunities, while also providing valuable field insights to our Product team to help prioritize feature development based on feedback from customers, competitors, and the market at large.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a robust background in Federal Civilian Sales Engineering, who are passionate about leveraging technology to support Public Sector initiatives. As we broaden our reach into larger markets and enhance our support for the Public Sector enterprise segment, this role is critical to driving Datadog's growth trajectory.
