About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will be on the front lines of technology implementation. FDEs are a select group of adaptable engineers who collaborate directly with our most vital users to address intricate challenges in real-time. Your core objective will be to significantly expedite the value delivery of our software through direct integration into the operational environments of our users.
Your firsthand experience with our technology in action will allow you to serve as a vital liaison, providing critical technical insights and feature needs back to our main product engineering team. This position requires a resourceful problem-solver who thrives in dynamic settings, embraces uncertainty, and can swiftly navigate high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate with Military Avionics Data Buses: Spearhead the on-site integration of our solutions with both airborne and terrestrial platforms by developing data ingestion and translation layers for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 avionics buses.
Implement Tactical Datalink Interfaces: Design and deploy software interfaces to interpret, convert, and manage messages from tactical datalinks, including Link 16 and Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), ensuring dependable machine-to-machine communication in challenging environments.
Enable Cursor-on-Target (CoT) Data Flows: Develop and sustain robust CoT event pipelines that integrate platform sensor data into the comprehensive C5ISR ecosystem, maintaining operational relevance and low-latency delivery.
Real-Time Problem Solving: Function as the primary technical support, swiftly diagnosing and addressing software, protocol, and integration challenges as they occur in the operational field.
