Role Overview
We are seeking dynamic Senior Software Engineers to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of January’s technology platform. As a Senior Engineer at January, you will do more than just write code. You will take ownership of product outcomes, set the technical direction, and mentor fellow engineers while building systems that enhance the financial well-being of millions.

- Borrower Acquisition: Scaling our communication platforms to ensure that the right borrowers receive the right message at the right time.
- Borrower Activation: Developing features in the Borrower Portal that assist individuals in resolving their accounts and achieving financial stability.
Compliance and Money Operations: Ensuring our financial systems are accurate, scalable, and compliant while facilitating efficient money movement at scale.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly scalable systems that serve millions of borrowers and financial partners.
- Contribute to architectural design and roadmap planning, shaping the direction of core projects.
- Lead by example through engineering excellence, advocating for best practices and maintaining high code quality.
- Mentor junior engineers to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
- Collaborate across departments, working closely with Product, Design, and Operations to deliver impactful solutions.
- Propose and refine company-wide engineering processes in collaboration with other senior leaders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong technical proficiency (experience in Python, React, Postgres, AWS is desirable; we welcome diverse backgrounds and are willing to teach these technologies).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a passion for creating impactful solutions.
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
