ResponsibilitiesDevelop, refine, and enhance machine learning models and LLM-based systems that drive essential decisions in fraud detection, compliance, growth, and operational efficiency.Analyze complex, real-world data to extract meaningful signals, construct features, and perpetually optimize model performance.Make informed trade-offs regarding model performance, interpretability, and operational expenses.Collaborate closely with product and operations teams to identify and resolve challenges that affect the experiences of our vast client base.Contribute to backend systems and data pipelines that facilitate model training and inference, while not primarily focusing on infrastructure.Produce high-quality, well-tested code and engage in code review processes.Assume long-term responsibility for critical systems as River continues to grow.QualificationsA minimum of 4 years of experience in building and deploying machine learning models in real-world environments or equivalent research experience.Strong understanding of ML principles and their practical applications, including the ability to navigate trade-offs.Experience tackling challenges related to noisy, imbalanced data, and developing strategies for effective data handling.
