POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing for Plastics and Additives will serve as the principal authority on plastic and additive commodities, including injection molding and 3D printing, at Anduril Industries. This pivotal role involves proactively securing essential components, materials, and services that drive our innovative products. You will be instrumental in forging new supplier relationships and sourcing partnerships to enhance our product technology, cost-effectiveness, and quality. Collaborating across multiple internal teams, you will assess supplier opportunities while ensuring that commercial agreements, intellectual property rights, and statements of work are accurately defined prior to implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and implement comprehensive commodity strategies for plastics and additives with a focus on cost efficiency, quality enhancement, and supply chain robustness.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of sourcing quality parts, ensuring timely delivery at optimal costs.
- Act as the subject matter expert on plastics and additive manufacturing processes.
- Lead the RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing initiatives for plastics and additive materials.
- Manage relationships with external contract manufacturers, ensuring supply continuity, risk management, and effective cost negotiations throughout the NPI to MP transition.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams and contract manufacturers to refine technical design specifications and customize product and manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of bid submissions, evaluating cost breakdowns and making informed decisions based on total cost of ownership.
- Work in tandem with cross-functional teams to fulfill prototype needs, meet build timelines, and spearhead sourcing initiatives.
- Influence contract manufacturers’ production processes, capital expenditures, and technological choices.
- Negotiate critical agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
