Senior Supplier Quality Engineer - PCB/PCBA
In this pivotal role, you will drive the Astranis supply chain to achieve excellence by collaborating closely with top-tier suppliers and manufacturers in the electronics sector. You will leverage Astranis's Electrical Engineering expertise during the development phases of new technologies and oversee production and product qualifications. Act as the primary liaison for supply chain escalations and develop rigorous supplier qualification, workmanship, and inspection standards that surpass Aerospace Industry benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard and qualify new suppliers, with travel required to production sites.
- Qualify new processes and products, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and document incoming inspection strategies and procedures.
- Support product development and Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews, representing manufacturing and quality perspectives.
- Lead efforts to resolve non-conformances and drive problem-solving initiatives to completion.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and traceability of electronics manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality, or Product Engineer, including at least 5 years focused on electronics manufacturing (EEE components, harnesses, PCB, and PCBA).
- Familiarity with IPC-A-600, 610, and 620 Class 3 standards, IPC-J-STD-001, and/or MIL-STD.
- Hands-on experience on the production floor in launching new products and optimizing production processes.
