What You'll Do
Epic Games seeks a Senior Systems Designer to lead the development of essential features related to progression, economy, and gameplay balance for an exciting new game project. This role involves designing and prototyping features, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary development team to bring them to life, and ensuring they evolve in a live game environment, all while prioritizing player enjoyment.
In this role, you will
- Collaborate closely with project leads and directors to design and refine intricate systems that enhance engagement, gameplay, and the creative vision of the project.
- Document, prototype, and iterate on these systems, guiding their successful implementation from concept through to launch.
- Engage in hands-on scripting, data management, and content creation necessary for these systems, leveraging the engine and various tools.
- Proactively gather and integrate feedback from team members to ensure we consistently deliver a fun and engaging experience to our players.
- Continuously expand and enhance these systems once they are live, keeping the game thrilling and engaging for players.
What we're looking for
- Over 5 years of experience as a Systems Designer, with a focus on progression, economy, gameplay systems, and balancing features and content.
- Experience in live-service multiplayer environments is preferred, along with proficiency in Unreal Engine; mobile game experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to design engaging and balanced systems that contribute to player satisfaction.
