Join our dynamic team as a Senior Tax Associate, where you will take the lead in preparing intricate tax returns and providing essential support for tax planning and advisory projects. This role is pivotal in guiding junior staff while ensuring our tax services meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Mentor and supervise Tax Associates and Interns, providing them with constructive feedback.
• Conduct advanced tax research and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Engage in tax planning, projections, and advisory services for clients.
• Liaise with clients to address tax-related inquiries and issues.
• Contribute to training and development initiatives within the tax department.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA licensure.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal income tax regulations and compliance mandates.
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns.
• Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in public accounting, specifically with multi-entity or complex client structures.
• Familiarity with tax planning or specialized areas of taxation.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods and utilize a computer.
• Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
• Strong analytical skills to navigate complex tax situations, applying sound professional judgment while managing competing priorities.
Work Environment and Travel
• On-site role.
• Minimal travel required.
• Standard professional office environment with a moderate noise level.
