Role Overview
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our Shenzhen office, focusing on executing clear product and commercial directives into scalable, high-quality hardware solutions. This part-time position is designed to alleviate cognitive load from our senior leadership while enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement hardware strategy with meticulous attention to detail.
- Minimize operational burdens for senior leadership.
- Enhance supply chain robustness.
- Ensure that hardware does not impede product, software, or commercial success.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to Operations.
- Collaborates closely with:
- Head of Operations (COGS, suppliers, margins, payments)
- Product leadership (hardware roadmap and feasibility)
- Engineering and Product teams (delivery readiness)
- Engages daily with factories, suppliers, and component manufacturers in China.
Accountabilities
- Hardware Execution:
- Align with established hardware direction and specifications.
- Manage daily factory relationships and onsite execution.
- Conduct inspections, quality assurance, and sign-off on samples before production.
- Quickly resolve defects, quality issues, and production risks.
- Maintain consistent product quality and customer experience.
- Generate clear, written QA and shipment reports.
- Quality Management:
- Implement ground-level QA processes.
- Diagnose hardware failures to identify and rectify root causes for quality improvements.
- Propose corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Promptly escalate material risks with actionable recommendations.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Identify and mitigate single points of failure among components and suppliers.
- Advocate for dual sourcing where feasible.
- Proactively identify and present supply chain risks with mitigation strategies.
