POSITION SUMMARY
As a Service Engineering Specialist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing root causes and executing corrective actions for issues affecting our products in service. You will engage in troubleshooting activities, program revisions, vendor collaboration, field testing, and composing detailed Instructions to Service documents. You will report directly to the Controls Supervisor within the Service Engineering team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee commissioning activities, both onsite and remotely, addressing hardware, software, and firmware issues as they arise.
- Develop and assess service bulletins and instructions by collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and suppliers.
- Facilitate the transition of field service action reports to the FSAR engineering team for test program release.
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex product issues through collaboration with vendors and engineering teams, ensuring effective solutions are implemented.
- Support the development of diagnostic tools for field use, enhancing service efficiency.
- Guide field staff and customers in resolving issues promptly, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at preventing the recurrence of known field issues.
- Evaluate product improvement opportunities and collaborate with designers for implementation in current and future products as needed.
- Communicate effectively the root causes and resolutions of technical issues to internal and utility customers as required.
- Provide the Technical Publications Department with updated information for manuals and suggestions for improvement.
- Assist in controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations and verify product reliability.
- Undertake special assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a Registered (or eligible for registration) Engineer in Training, Professional Engineer, or Certified Engineering Technologist in Electrical.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems is preferred.
