As a Shipmaster, you will take command of vessels navigating through various bodies of water, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing ship crew members, fostering a collaborative and safe working environment.
Overseeing the maintenance of the vessel and all onboard equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Operating and maintaining critical systems such as engines, winches, navigational tools, fire extinguishers, and life-saving devices.
Measuring and recording water depths, ensuring safe navigation and adherence to planned routes.
Monitoring hydraulic fluid levels, air pressure, and oxygen to maintain operational safety.
Utilizing signaling devices to communicate with other vessels effectively.
Resolving customer-related issues and ensuring high satisfaction.
Towing and maneuvering barges as required.
Coordinating crew activities related to cargo operations, vessel steering, and equipment maintenance.
Conducting regular inspections of the vessel to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Setting courses and determining speed using navigational charts and instruments.
Documenting ship position and movements accurately.
