Qualifications
What you will achieve: Engage in cross-functional projects that define the future of Asana’s data platforms, empowering our colleagues to leverage data effectively. Collaborate with data engineering and other infrastructure teams to address challenges in data infrastructure service models, operations, deployment, and security. Design and implement tools and automation for data access, scalability, monitoring, and privacy. Promote best practices in coding and effective engineering operations. Help establish and adhere to best practices for running data applications in the cloud (AWS) and utilize cutting-edge tools. Participate in design reviews, communicate constraints, and assist engineers in making informed trade-offs. Contribute to maintaining our data platform by participating in the data infrastructure on-call rotation during working hours. Play a key role in establishing our Data Infra presence in Warsaw! About you: Proficient in programming, distributed systems design, and infrastructure. Experienced in building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and highly available services. 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing production code for backend, infrastructure, or data systems. 2+ years of experience mentoring and coaching team members on project design and execution. Strong desire to learn and grow in the field of data infrastructure.

Join our dynamic team as a Software Engineer specializing in Data Infrastructure at Asana! We are seeking a talented individual with a robust background in infrastructure and operations, coupled with a keen interest in big data systems. You will collaborate with a world-class engineering team to deploy and manage existing systems while innovating new solutions to tackle the unique challenges faced by Asana’s data platforms.
The Data Infrastructure team is responsible for building the backbone that consumes, exposes, and generates product and product-derived datasets. We oversee the pipelines that transport and process database data across all of Asana’s product surfaces, ensuring data accuracy and availability for stakeholders in Data Science, Business, and Product teams.
This role is based in our Warsaw office, following a hybrid work schedule. Standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, while most employees have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Work from home on Fridays may vary based on job responsibilities, and your recruiter will provide more information about in-office requirements.
