About Air Space Intelligence
At Air Space Intelligence (ASI), we are revolutionizing decision-making across aviation, defense, energy, and critical infrastructure domains through our mission-critical technology. Supported by leading investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, and Renegade Partners, ASI enables operational decision superiority, transforming days of analysis into actionable insights in mere seconds. We are at the forefront of innovation, continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
About the Civil Aviation Team
Our team is on an accelerated mission to modernize America’s air traffic control system, addressing one of the most complex real-time optimization challenges in the world: the safe coordination of tens of thousands of daily flights in a dynamic, safety-critical environment. We are developing next-generation trajectory prediction and decision-support systems while preparing the airspace for emerging technologies such as commercial space operations and advanced air mobility. Our work is critical, demanding precision, resilience, and reliability to enhance the safety and efficiency of the national airspace.
What You Will Do:
As a Software Engineer on our Civil Aviation team, you will be responsible for designing and building a backend system that will be pivotal to U. S. air travel for the next decade and beyond. This platform must be developed with accuracy, ensuring its maintainability for future engineers who may not have been part of its creation.
You will face the core technical challenge of data fusion at an operational scale: effectively ingesting diverse, noisy, and possibly conflicting data streams from various sources—radar, flight plans, weather systems, operator inputs—and synthesizing them into a single, authoritative view. The system will project this state forward in time, allowing for optimization amidst a complex array of competing conditions and constraints. This role requires a strong intuition for modeling uncertainty, reasoning about data provenance and confidence, and creating systems that gracefully handle incomplete or erroneous inputs.
What We Value:
Proven experience in developing production-grade backend or distributed systems, emphasizing strong design principles for maintainability, scalability, and performance.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language; we primarily use Rust and Python, and expect you to have the foundational skills to learn these languages swiftly.
Experience in data integration, storage, processing, and management, with a focus on achieving operational excellence.
