What You Will Do
Standardize the overall message detection flow and decision-making logic, allowing our infrastructure to scale in line with an increasing customer base, message volume, signals, and detectors.
Develop tools and infrastructure that empower engineers to implement changes with confidence and safety.
Create tools and mechanisms that provide insights into detection efficacy and generate actionable steps to uphold high performance.
Ensure seamless integration with other Abnormal products (e.g., Abuse Mailbox) and deliver detection outputs through a standardized interface for use by other Abnormal solutions.
Write code with a focus on testability, readability, handling edge cases, and error management, favoring simple iterative solutions.
Draft and review technical design documents.
Engage in Sprint planning, code reviews, standups, and other elements of the software development lifecycle.

As a Software Engineer II on our team, you will embrace the exciting challenge of constructing and managing the core infrastructure that powers detection capabilities for our inbound email security solutions. This infrastructure must be scalable, adaptable, and user-centric. You will work closely with Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and fellow Software Engineers to mitigate the risks and effects of efficacy degradation stemming from uncontrollable variables. Your contributions are vital in ensuring that our inbound email security product remains resilient and fault-tolerant, significantly impacting the success of our Email Security offerings and Abnormal Security as a whole.
