Your Role
The Seller Growth team is dedicated to expanding our seller base on Whatnot, allowing them to turn hobbies into thriving businesses. Within this team, the Platform pod plays a crucial role in ensuring that this growth is sustainable, reliable, and scalable.
As a software engineer on the Seller Growth Platform pod, you will be instrumental in designing and developing systems that form the backbone of our new seller onboarding process. Your responsibilities will include:
Fraud Prevention: Create and scale systems for identity verification, fraud detection, and automated trust/risk assessments to protect buyers while facilitating seamless experiences for legitimate sellers.
Trust and Safety: Ensure that the influx of new sellers can operate successfully without compromising the buyer experience, while actively preventing misconduct and abuse of incentives.
Smart Platform Insights: Enhance accurate seller identification through data enrichment, signal processing, and predictive lifetime value models to direct sellers to optimal onboarding, incentives, and discovery pathways.
Scalable Infrastructure Development: Collaborate with Data Science and other teams to build robust systems that can support our growing seller ecosystem.
