Join our team as a Spacecraft Systems Engineer and be at the forefront of spacecraft development within a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to the Z Program’s Space Science and Security Program (SSSP). In this role, you will leverage your expertise to drive concept development, requirements generation, modeling, simulations, and analyses of advanced space payloads and spacecraft models. You will work alongside scientists, engineers, and senior management to create spacecraft models that support critical national security initiatives.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to take on project management responsibilities, defining and executing the technical, programmatic, and supervisory functions essential for achieving the program's objectives. This position is located within the National Security Engineering Division (NSED) of the Engineering Directorate.

This position can be filled at either level, depending on your expertise and experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional responsibilities will be assigned for the higher level role.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Independently manage projects with minimal oversight, utilizing advanced knowledge and judgment to set objectives, prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and innovate methods/technologies to ensure project completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Offer advanced technical knowledge and support in spacecraft subsystems, including but not limited to: attitude and orbital controls, propulsion, solar array design, electrical power systems, avionics, data handling, thermal systems, structures and mechanisms, telemetry, tracking and control (TT&C), RF communications, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) payloads, and/or electro-optical payloads.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses to evaluate spacecraft performance and capabilities.
- Engage directly with management and external sponsors to coordinate technical milestones and gather insights from technical leaders in the space sector.
- Utilize your technical expertise to produce formal reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications to communicate findings effectively.
- Analyze intelligence reports and prepare technical analyses for the intelligence community and external sponsors.
- Provide collaborative and technical support to a diverse team of professionals, contributing to the success of our projects.
