As a Special Education Instructional Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for students with special needs by working closely with teachers and providing tailored assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support instructional staff in creating and delivering effective learning materials and activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to reinforce learning objectives.
- Supervise students during various school activities, including classroom sessions, library visits, physical education, lunch, and field trips.
- Assist in the development of diverse instructional resources and materials.
- Maintain classroom equipment and report any issues to the teacher.
- Help in organizing and distributing classroom materials and contributing to bulletin boards and displays.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing and duplicating educational materials.
- Manage student behavior in the absence of the teacher and support substitutes when necessary.
- Communicate any concerns or important information regarding students to the teacher.
- Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and maintain student confidentiality.
- Adhere to a daily schedule as determined by the teacher(s) and approved by the principal.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and be prepared to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Working Schedule: This position is for nine months of the school year, encompassing 184 days.
