Qualifications
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated through effective interpersonal interactions with teammates, teachers, students, parents, and other stakeholders.A calm and professional demeanor when managing competing demands and external pressures.Demonstrated ability to oversee large projects from planning to execution, with direct accountability for outcomes involving multiple stakeholders.Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in database management as well as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).Prior experience in project management or office-based customer service.Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.1 to 3 years of experience in teaching or school administrative roles.A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Join Uncommon Schools as a Special Projects Coordinator, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational environment for both students and teachers. In this position, you will manage essential logistics and operational support to help our school community thrive. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing various school systems, including assessments, facilities, student food services, technology for staff and students, and event planning. You will report directly to the school’s Director of Operations (DOO).
As the Special Projects Coordinator, you will be responsible for executing the following workstreams:
- Planning family and student events, such as Report Card Conferences
- Managing internal quarterly assessments and state assessments, ensuring compliance with all state testing regulations
- Coordinating student food systems, including meal distribution and partnerships with food vendors
- Overseeing technology initiatives for students and staff
- Enhancing school visual décor and aesthetics to foster a welcoming environment
- Managing transportation systems for students
- Supporting extracurricular activities, enrichment programs, and field trips
- Leading other projects and new initiatives aimed at improving school operations and student success
At larger campuses, we employ multiple SPC roles: SPC - Technology & Assessments, SPC - Events, and SPC - Systems, each focusing on specific workstreams outlined above.
