We are in search of a talented Staff Accountant specializing in Accounts Receivable to manage customer billing, oversee accounts receivable functions, and perform general ledger accounting, including month-end close processes. A principal duty of this role involves creating accurate and timely customer invoices in line with contract stipulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to interpret government contract clauses and apply them effectively to invoicing, including aspects such as funding, CLIN structures, and billing conditions.
Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, manage multiple deadlines efficiently, and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and external clients. Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities are essential for analyzing situations and presenting viable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate invoices for various contract types, including Time and Materials (T+M), Firm Fixed Price - Level of Effort (FFP-LOE), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and cost-type contracts.
- Utilize online billing platforms, such as Exostar and WAWF/PIEE, to submit invoices and address any rejections.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and rejected invoices.
- Conduct accounts receivable aging analysis and follow up on collections.
- Prepare final project closeout invoices and related documentation.
- Monitor and reconcile unbilled costs on a monthly basis.
- Address customer and DCMA/DCAA inquiries regarding invoices.
- Create journal entries and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
- Assist with the month-end close process.
- Compile monthly cash estimates and accounts receivable schedules.
- Update and maintain process documentation related to accounts receivable, billing, and inter-company adjustments.
- Collaborate with program teams, contracts, and other internal departments.
- Manage supplier banking information within the secure banking portal.
- Serve as a backup for the Staff Accountant, Property.
