About Our Marketing Technology Team
The Marketing Tech team at Thumbtack plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing millions in marketing expenditures, directly influencing our revenue growth. As a member of this dynamic team, you will engage in diverse marketing strategies, including paid channels (SEM, Social Media, Streaming Media) as well as organic approaches (SEO, Engagement, and Lifecycle Marketing), allowing you to significantly impact our overall marketing initiatives.

As we continue to build a world-class Marketing Tech stack, this role will be integrated with the Embedded Data Engineering team while collaborating daily with the Marketing Tech engineering group, including a focused sub-team of two Data Engineers. In this collaborative environment, you will contribute to the vision of embedding data in all marketing aspects at Thumbtack, working closely with our cross-functional team. Thumbtack fosters a vibrant culture of collaboration and innovation, where you will help establish data architecture, actively build datasets, and mentor fellow engineers throughout the process.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaboratively develop and promote a comprehensive framework for incorporating data-driven thinking into the software development lifecycle for marketing.
- Design, architect, and maintain essential marketing datasets, data marts, and feature stores that support both established products and rapidly evolving features, in collaboration with analytics, data science, and machine learning teams.
- Engage with product engineers, analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers within marketing to understand their data requirements, ensuring datasets are designed with the same rigor as any other software solution.
- Champion data quality and best practices across marketing and business domains.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation marketing data products at Thumbtack, leveraging real-time insights.
