About the job
About the Role
At Hinge Health, we are taking a transformative leap from digital physical therapy to comprehensive musculoskeletal care with our innovative HingeSelect program. This platform empowers our members to choose in-person visits, specialist referrals, and various care pathways tailored to their needs. As we grow this initiative, we are in search of a Staff Product Data Scientist to establish a robust measurement and experimentation framework that translates our product investments into tangible growth.
This position is a unique 0-to-1 role where you will be the inaugural dedicated data scientist for HingeSelect's discovery and visitation experience. Collaborating closely with our Product and Engineering teams, you will identify conversion challenges, set up causal guardrails to avoid cannibalizing existing programs, and ensure that our instrumentation allows for clear feedback loops linking product features to business outcomes. Additionally, you will analyze the interplay between provider capacity and member demand to enhance supply-demand dynamics within our care network.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, is proficient in AI-assisted development, and is capable of crafting end-to-end data architecture from the ground up. You should be skilled in writing production-ready code using AI tools, designing experiments that withstand causal scrutiny, and converting vague business inquiries into structured analytical frameworks. Without your expertise, our analytics could remain superficial, critical strategic risks may go unmeasured, and engineering teams might proceed without a clear connection between features and outcomes.
Our technology stack includes: Python, SQL, dbt, Mode, Databricks, Airflow, Statsig, and AWS.
What You'll Achieve
Develop the measurement and experimentation infrastructure for HingeSelect from start to finish, covering everything from instrumentation design to causal analysis and metric reporting.
Identify and diagnose conversion impediments throughout the HingeSelect funnel (discovery, selection, scheduling, visit completion), and collaborate with Product to prioritize impactful interventions.
Design and implement experiments with causal guardrails that quantify HingeSelect's incremental contributions while preventing any negative impact on existing digital PT engagement.
Create models of supply-demand dynamics, analyzing how provider capacity, geographic coverage, and member demand interact to guide network strategy and capacity planning.
Establish the data architecture for HingeSelect from the ground up, including event taxonomy, data models, and metric definitions that support dependable downstream analysis and AI agent utilization.
Develop and maintain dashboards and self-service tools that provide Product, Engineering, and leadership with real-time insights into funnel performance and key metrics.
