Overview: The Staff Software Development Engineer L5 is responsible for all aspects of designing high-throughput, multi-tenant services. This role requires the ability to architect components with precision, manage error handling effectively, and produce clean, well-structured code that is maintainable and thoroughly tested.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design resilient and secure distributed systems at scale from the ground up.
- Elevate engineering standards regarding scalability, resilience, and security through technical leadership and excellence.
- Explore, review, and influence new designs, architectures, and standards for unique service delivery.
- Research, design, and implement innovative technologies to expand Inovalon’s infrastructure with robust, scalable solutions.
- Champion the enterprise infrastructure vision and strategy.
- Serve as an authority on service reliability and sustainability.
- Develop and execute designs for complex systems based on rigorous engineering analysis.
- Gather and leverage metrics for managing server fleets and computing systems to drive automation and performance improvements.
- Take ownership of design, analysis, testing, and optimization processes.
- Set team goals related to project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency.
- Lead significant initiatives, projects, and team rollouts.
- Mentor new team members to ensure their successful integration and ramp-up.
- Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, various services within Inovalon, and external customers to understand requirements through a data-driven feedback loop.
- Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, and regulatory policies and requirements.
