Position: Staff Software Engineer – Open Source
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Software Engineer – Open Source to take ownership of and enhance the SigNoz open-source experience from start to finish. This role is perfect for someone passionate about building developer-centric solutions, deeply invested in the open-source community, and eager to make a significant impact on how engineering teams monitor and operate their systems.
Your primary goal will be to expand the adoption of SigNoz OSS.
Key Responsibilities
As part of your role, you will focus on making the SigNoz open-source experience more intuitive, robust, and accessible:
- Develop an integration framework that simplifies the process for developers to create, extend, and publish integrations with SigNoz.
- Enhance the self-hosted setup and upgrade process, transforming it from a complex task to a quick setup.
- Design and build APIs, services, and core backend components using Go.
- Lead the product roadmap centered on open source: identify user pain points, prioritize features, and deliver enhancements for the open-source community.
- Create a marketplace for integrations, including patterns, templates, examples, and tools to assist the community in integrating SigNoz into their technology stacks.
- Measure and analyze OSS adoption metrics (deployments, upgrades, integrations utilized, etc.) to inform future improvements.
Qualifications for Success
- 4-8 years of experience in backend engineering, with a preference for Go.
- Strong grasp of concurrency, locks, channels, and performance optimization in Go.
- Experience with open-source communities and a passion for fostering collaboration and innovation.
