LEAP Program Overview
Global Solutions Ventures (GSV) – a collaboration between ZemiTek, LLC and Dexis Consulting Group – is executing the Long-term Exceptional Technical Assistance Project (LEAP Global), initially established by USAID to combat infectious diseases including malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, and pandemic influenza. As of July 1, 2025, LEAP Global has transitioned to the U.S. Department of State (DOS). This initiative seeks to resolve the complex human resource challenges faced by national infectious disease programs in U.S.-supported countries.
The project's intervention involves recruiting and integrating technical expert advisors and subject matter experts within governmental entities. By embedding technical expertise directly within national programs, LEAP provides sustainable, lifesaving support, empowering host governments to lead and manage crucial aspects of their infectious disease portfolios while enhancing coordination between the U.S. Government and the host country.
Position Overview
The Strategic Health Technical Advisor will act as the primary liaison between the U.S. Embassy Suva/Department of State (DOS) Foreign Assistance Unit (FAU) and the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) in the execution of Global Health Security (GHS) initiatives. Embedded within the respective ministry or ministries, the advisor will collaborate with implementing partners to promote effective multisectoral cooperation in support of bilateral efforts focused on global health security. The role will enhance the coordination of technical support with a specific focus on preventing, detecting, and addressing infectious disease threats that affect public health.
The Advisor will identify coordination gaps and programmatic challenges, proposing and implementing solutions through constructive collaboration.
