Position Overview
Eminent Technical Solutions (ETS) is on the lookout for a dedicated Structured Cabling Technician to play a vital role in the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems across diverse client environments.
As a Structured Cabling Technician, you will assist with various data cabling projects, executing tasks aligned with project plans. Your responsibilities will include the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and termination of Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cables.
This position demands proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and equipment specifications. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for seamless coordination with fellow ETS team members and for building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project schedules with customers and internal teams.
- Prepare for installations by reviewing project documentation and gathering necessary tools and materials.
- Plan installations by assessing locations and determining wiring layouts.
- Install structured cabling systems including Cat5/5e/6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
- Pull, route, terminate, and label cables in compliance with industry standards.
- Program, configure, and calibrate equipment as required.
- Conduct system tests to verify functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve cabling or connectivity issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries.
- Foster strong customer relationships through professional service.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage inventory of tools and materials.
- Identify opportunities to enhance project outcomes and deliver added value to clients.
Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass criminal background and driving record screenings.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet.
- Comfortable working at heights; tower climbing experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel within Utah and Southern Idaho.
