Position Title: Subject Matter Expert for Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS)

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Security Clearance Requirement: Active security clearance is required.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) will play a crucial role in empowering the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF). Responsibilities include the setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational management of the AFATDS/THSv2, enabling the integration of close air support, artillery, mortars, and naval surface fire support missions through a unified system. This position involves supporting Tactical C5ISR systems in both CONUS and OCONUS environments, directly aiding units engaged in combat operations and providing advisory assistance for mission execution.
Key Expertise in AFATDS:
- Extensive knowledge in setup, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AFATDS.
- Hands-on experience in integrating AFATDS with fire support systems and tactical C5ISR networks.
- Understanding of Marine Corps policies and procedures related to targeting and fire support governing AFATDS usage.
- Experience in deploying, configuring, sustaining, and troubleshooting THSv2.
- Proficient in mission support phases including system software loads, map/data updates, and hardware diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS).
- Knowledge of laser rangefinders, designators, FMV receivers, and USMC tactical radios/networks.
Education/Knowledge:
- Experience equivalent to a degree level if no formal higher education degrees exist.
- Familiarity with USMC tactical fire systems, including AFATDS and THSv2.
- Knowledge of laser range finders, designators, and full-motion video receivers.
- Understanding of Marine Corps targeting and fire support policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps radios and networks.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Considerable hands-on experience with AFATDS, including setup, operation, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge and experience with THSv2, including configuration and sustainment.
- CompTIA Security+ certification (mandatory).
- Active DOD Sponsored Security Clearance (mandatory).
- CCENT/CCNA or equivalent network training/certification (preferred).
- Experience in supporting U.S. Marine Corps tactical fire support and C4I systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
