As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Instructional Support: Assist teachers with our proprietary curriculum and resources, aiding advanced students in understanding intricate concepts.
- Student Engagement: Provide one-on-one assistance to students during activities and offer extra help when necessary.
- Classroom Organization: Help maintain a structured learning environment and assist in managing up to 16 students.
- Assignment Assistance: Aid in grading and offering constructive feedback on student assignments.
- Relationship Building: Connect with students and fellow staff to support their academic journeys and personal growth.
- Learning Enhancement: Contribute to an environment that encourages critical thinking and academic curiosity.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Strong language arts skills, with the ability to support students in complex topics.
- Experience or interest in working with younger students is strongly preferred.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive and supportive demeanor that encourages students to ask questions.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus but not mandatory.
Note:
- Prior teaching experience or coursework in education is not a requirement for this role.
Summer Schedule:
- We conduct multiple two-week camps from June to August.
- Camps are held Monday through Friday for a duration of 3 hours daily, with morning and afternoon sessions available.
Available Camp Sessions for Teaching Assistant Support:
- June 15 - June 26, afternoons 12 PM - 5 PM.
- July 6 - July 17, afternoons 12 PM - 5 PM.
- July 20 - July 31, mornings 8 AM - 1 PM.
