The Harper Cancer Research Institute (HCRI), part of ND Research, is committed to pioneering innovative research that tackles the multifaceted issues of cancer. We are actively seeking passionate students from the University of Notre Dame, St. Mary’s, or Holy Cross College to lead our Research Cures Cancer Corps (RC3) high school residential program during weekends and evenings from May 28 through July 25, 2026.
As Summer Coordinators for the RC3 program, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching residential experience for high school participants. Your commitment will involve residing on campus throughout the program's duration and supervising students according to the University’s policies regarding minor supervision.
The RC3 program will take place from June 1 through July 24, 2026, and your responsibilities will include fostering a positive residence hall atmosphere, mentoring students, and collaborating with staff to create an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise 10–12 high school participants within residence halls and across campus during the 8-week summer program.
- Cultivate positive relationships and a cooperative residential community.
- Act as a mentor and resource for students, providing guidance and support.
- Maintain an on-duty presence during evenings and weekends.
- Work alongside RC3 staff to uphold a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assist in the planning and execution of extracurricular activities and events.
- Adhere to and enforce all University and Residential Life policies.
- Regularly communicate maintenance, security, health, and safety issues to HCRI staff.
- Exhibit flexibility and readiness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
