The NYC Department of Transportation is actively seeking a detail-oriented and seasoned professional to take on the role of Supervisor of Office Machine Operations within the Mail Services & Storehouse Unit. This key position is vital for ensuring the seamless operation of mailroom services, which includes managing supplies, coordinating equipment repairs, and supervising overall functionality. The successful candidate will also aid in the daily processing of mail and inventory operations that are crucial for agency-wide activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate a diverse range of office and production machinery, including high-volume copiers, mail inserters, folding machines, postage meters, and offset duplicating equipment.
• Execute complex machine-related tasks that necessitate technical expertise, precision, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance and perform minor repairs on mailroom and duplication equipment to guarantee ongoing efficiency.
• Monitor equipment performance and facilitate service requests as needed.
• Assist in emergency operations involving large-scale printing, duplication, and mail processing during equipment malfunctions or urgent citywide communications.
• Process, sort, distribute, and track incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and interoffice correspondence.
• Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
• Maintain stock in storage areas and prepare materials for agency events, special mailings, and operational requirements.
