Qualifications
ResponsibilitiesLead field crews in performing construction, topographic, boundary, right-of-way, geodetic, and control surveys.Plan and execute fieldwork; engage in pre-survey meetings with project managers, engineers, and contractors.Assign, prioritize, and monitor crew tasks; enforce safety protocols and provide performance feedback.Collect and validate survey data utilizing conventional and GPS methods; operate and maintain survey equipment.Conduct and review complex survey calculations, data analyses, and closures.Prepare and review field notes, maps, plats, ALTA surveys, grade sheets, and survey records using AutoCAD and related software.Research and interpret deeds, record maps, easements, and right-of-way documentation.Integrate field data into final drawings, GIS, and survey deliverables.Provide training and mentorship to crew members; oversee the inventory and maintenance of survey equipment.Effectively communicate technical information to clients, consultants, agencies, and the public.Conduct field inspections across various terrains and weather conditions; travel locally and regionally as required.Requirements10+ years of survey experience (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).Associate degree in Surveying or Engineering, or 15 years of construction staking experience.In-depth knowledge of land surveying principles, methods, regulations, and standards.Expertise in GPS systems, AutoCAD, survey data processing, and GIS coordination.Strong mathematical and trigonometric skills for advanced survey calculations.Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, survey records, and relevant regulations.Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Capacity to manage deadlines, competing priorities, and diverse stakeholders.Customer-service oriented team player with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
