Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the preparation and review of federal and state tax filings for partnerships (Form 1065), S corporations (Form 1120S), high-net-worth individuals (Form 1040), fiduciary trusts (Form 1041), and estate tax returns (Form 706), including multi-state and composite filings.
Supervise the conversion of client trial balances into tax workpapers, ensuring accurate treatment of timing differences and Schedule M adjustments.
Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis on intricate issues pertaining to federal, state, and local income taxes, sales/use tax, and international reporting obligations.
Provide expert guidance on FBAR (FinCEN 114) compliance, including foreign account analysis and coordination with clients regarding reporting requirements.
Collaborate with partners and clients to develop proactive tax planning strategies, entity structuring, and risk mitigation opportunities.
Mentor and nurture junior and mid-level staff by providing technical training, thorough review feedback, and ongoing performance coaching.
Assist in business development by cultivating client relationships, identifying new service opportunities, and contributing to proposal development as necessary.
Stay informed on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure client compliance while identifying opportunities for strategic planning and savings.
Ensure that all deadlines are met with a high standard of quality and compliance with firm protocols.
Qualifications:
Must possess a CPA designation.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Proven experience in tax management, particularly with high-net-worth individuals and businesses.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and develop team members effectively.
