About the Role
In your capacity as a Tech Lead Manager at Mercor, you'll balance a dual focus: dedicating 50% of your time to producing exceptional code and developing systems, while the other 50% is spent leading, mentoring, and nurturing a high-performing engineering team. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring our core infrastructure and product development align with our rapid growth while fostering a culture of technical excellence and teamwork.
This position is ideal for individuals who excel in fast-paced environments, can introduce structure without bureaucratic hindrances, and are adept at harmonizing technical depth with business objectives. Your contributions will significantly influence the trajectory of Mercor's engineering division as we expand.
What You'll Work On
Developing production-grade code and directly enhancing our systems and products (50% of your time).
Overseeing and mentoring a team of engineers, promoting career advancement, and cultivating a robust engineering culture.
Leading technical design, architectural decisions, and code assessments to ensure scalability and reliability.
Prototyping and scaling new evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and reinforcement learning environments.
Establishing engineering standards that facilitate rapid growth without compromising stability or code integrity.
Rapidly hiring and onboarding top-tier technical talent from diverse geographical locations.
Collaborating on cross-functional projects with product, operations, and data teams to achieve significant results.
