About Air Space Intelligence
At Air Space Intelligence (ASI), we are at the forefront of transforming decision-making processes across the aviation, defense, energy, and critical infrastructure sectors. Supported by renowned investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, and Renegade Partners, our mission-critical technology offers operational decision superiority that condenses days of analysis into mere seconds of actionable insight. ASI is not just leading the industry; we are redefining what is achievable.
About the Civil Aviation Team
We are committed to modernizing the air traffic control system of the United States on an accelerated timeline, addressing one of the most intricate real-time optimization challenges: the safe coordination of tens of thousands of flights daily in a complex, safety-critical environment. Our dedicated team is developing next-generation trajectory prediction and decision-support systems, while also preparing the airspace for innovative technologies such as commercial space operations and advanced air mobility. This critical work demands unparalleled precision, resilience, and reliability to ensure the safety and efficiency of the national airspace.
Your Role:
As the Lead Cloud Platform Engineer for our Civil Aviation team, you will be responsible for the architecture, reliability, and ongoing development of a cloud platform that underpins mission-critical aviation systems. You will lead a small, skilled team while remaining hands-on in building and operating a globally scalable infrastructure that maintains ~99.99% availability and supports safe, continuous delivery in a 24/7 operational environment.
You will define and drive platform architecture, establishing best practices for infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes-based systems, deployment pipelines, and production operations. You will take ownership of reliability from end-to-end, designing for failure, implementing observability (metrics, logging, tracing), and leading incident response, postmortems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
In addition to your technical leadership, you will manage and nurture a small team of engineers—setting clear direction, establishing high standards, and developing systems (metrics, processes, feedback loops) that empower teams to operate autonomously while fostering a strong culture of reliability and accountability.
Our Values:
Extensive experience in building and operating highly reliable cloud platforms with ~99.99% uptime.
Strong expertise in AWS, with a comprehensive understanding of multi-region and highly available architectures.
Proficiency in Kubernetes and related technologies.
