AECOM is seeking a dynamic Technical Lead in Renewable Energy to guide our exceptional team of engineers and designers engaged in renewable projects nationwide as part of our US Energy Practice. In this role, we offer the flexibility to work remotely or from our various Energy offices located across the United States.
Our team delivers a comprehensive array of engineering services supporting projects throughout the country. The renewable project scopes encompass commercial and industrial installations focused on resilience, efficiency, and reliability, along with utility-scale projects aimed at powering communities through interconnected networks or high-density local installations. Key areas of focus include solar photovoltaics (PV), innovative technologies in agrivoltaics and floating PV, energy storage solutions (e.g., BESS, supercapacitors), interconnection, wind repowering, and new site development.
We are in search of an emerging leader with a technical background in distributed energy solutions, eager to showcase our capabilities to new clients while nurturing our established client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the department manager in fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and designers, enhancing their individual technical skills and overall job satisfaction.
- Provide guidance to engineers within the US Energy Practice and remote teams.
- Drive project efficiency improvements by creating, updating, and implementing specific group standards and templates.
- Offer insights on project resource allocation and staffing forecasts.
- Create task and deliverable lists with estimated hours and schedules to support business development in renewable and decentralized energy projects.
- Facilitate the department’s strategic resourcing initiatives and actively participate in recruitment efforts.
- Lead projects as the technical lead and engineer of record, executing engineering calculations to support the construction deliverables (specifications, reports, drawings).
- Support projects through the entire lifecycle, including feasibility, preliminary and detailed design, and issue resolution.
