The Role
Trail of Bits is seeking a dynamic Technical Marketing Manager to oversee daily marketing operations for our Application Security (AppSec), AI/ML Security, and Research & Engineering sectors. This role will work alongside another Technical Marketing Manager, who focuses on our Blockchain & Cryptography practice. Together, you will form the backbone of Trail of Bits' marketing initiatives. Your collaboration will involve working closely with engineering directors and the broader go-to-market team, including Marketing, Technical Editing, Project Management, and Sales Engineering, to transform security research into impactful marketing materials such as blog posts, social media campaigns, event participation, case studies, and joint marketing efforts with clients.
In this position, you will coordinate closely with your counterpart on shared channels, joint campaigns, and cross-practice strategies to ensure cohesive marketing efforts rather than operating as separate entities.
This role is particularly distinct due to its audience. The security research community engages with our blogs, utilizes our open-source tools, and attends our presentations. They are discerning and expect technical accuracy in our content. A solid understanding of the AppSec and AI/ML Security landscapes is crucial, including knowledge of where these communities engage online, and the technical fluency to ensure your contributions withstand scrutiny.
This is a hands-on position where you will manage social media, event planning, demand generation, and content production. You will collaborate with our Technical Editing team on content workflows and be prepared to assist with writing and production when necessary. Your responsibilities will include briefing speakers prior to conferences, managing co-marketing initiatives with clients, and ensuring that all content is strategically positioned to reach the appropriate audience.
