Lead and oversee a dedicated team of test engineers, technicians, and analysts, ensuring the thorough validation of steering systems, including hardware, software, and mechatronic components.
Design and execute detailed test strategies, comprehensive test plans, and validation protocols throughout all development stages, encompassing components, bench, HIL, durability, and on-road testing.
Supervise testing processes to guarantee adherence to functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 for ASIL-rated systems, regulatory requirements (GB, ECE), and internal quality metrics.
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams including design/release engineers, software developers, vehicle testers, suppliers, and program managers to clarify test requirements, address challenges, and support root cause analysis methodologies like FMEA and data logging.
Ensure complete traceability of requirements to test cases and manage documentation essential for audits and homologation.
Administer daily operations and upkeep of steering system test facilities, which include bench test rigs, durability test stands, NVH acoustic chambers, and environmental chambers, ensuring optimal uptime, reliability, and repeatability of test outcomes.
Oversee test facility assets and infrastructure, formulating and implementing preventive maintenance schedules, managing equipment calibrations, upgrades, and repairs, while troubleshooting facility-related issues to minimize downtime and meet program timelines.
Champion lab safety, housekeeping, and compliance initiatives, enforcing lab safety protocols and corporate EHS standards in line with regulatory requirements for testing operations.
Manage lab inventory, procurement, and budgeting, overseeing the ordering and stocking of consumables, spare parts, sensors, and test-specific components while monitoring and controlling lab operating budgets, including capital requests for new test equipment or facility expansions.
Perform additional relevant tasks as directed by superiors to fulfill the company’s objectives.
