Position Summary:
The Underwriting Team Lead will oversee, mentor, and develop a small team of underwriters while maintaining direct involvement in complex cases. This role acts as a liaison between team members and underwriting leadership, ensuring consistent operations, equitable workload distribution, sound underwriting judgment, and seamless collaboration across Sales, Customer Management, Carrier Management, and Underwriting Operations.
The Team Lead will enhance performance through real-time case monitoring, effective escalation management, quality assurance, and the professional development of team members. Additionally, they will engage directly in high-impact and non-standard underwriting situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Case Management
- Oversee daily underwriting activities for a designated team to ensure timely case resolution and balanced workload.
- Track case progress, turnaround times, and assignment distributions using Salesforce and underwriting tools.
