THE PROGRAM
Our Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program is designed to help aspiring veterinary technicians realize their full potential. This immersive, hands-on experience in emergency medicine allows you to work directly alongside our credentialed emergency veterinary technicians.
This is not just an observational role; you will actively participate in the action, asking questions, trying new techniques, and exploring what excites you about the ER environment. From patient triage to diagnostics and inpatient care, you will gain valuable insights into the realities of emergency medicine and determine if this is the path you wish to pursue. This is a unique opportunity to establish a solid foundation, ignite your passion, and contribute to something truly meaningful.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Learn from leading emergency veterinary professionals.
- Work closely with a credentialed emergency veterinary technician for real-time mentoring and practical learning.
- Shadow and assist with triage, outpatient visits, diagnostics, anesthesia, inpatient care, and more.
- Practice essential skills outlined by your school's proficiency checklist with the support of experienced mentors.
