We are on the lookout for a dynamic Vice President of Corporate Controllership to become an integral part of our Finance team at Lightspeed. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Global Controllership function, which encompasses Accounting, Revenue, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP). Reporting directly to the CFO, we seek a hands-on yet strategic leader who can excel in a fast-paced, publicly traded company environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with IFRS while maintaining a robust SOX control framework, all the while leading and developing a high-performing global team.
Key Responsibilities:
As the VP of Corporate Controllership, you will partner with various stakeholders across the organization and key external partners to accomplish the following:
- Strategic Leadership & Team Management:
- Establish the enterprise-wide strategic vision for the global Controllership, Revenue, AR, and AP functions to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Promote a culture of high performance, collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Attract and retain top talent, overseeing the career development and performance of your direct reports.
- Serve as the ultimate strategic authority for global accounting policies and processes, influencing financial decisions that affect business strategy.
- Controllership & Financial Reporting:
- Accountable for the integrity and accuracy of all financial statements and external regulatory filings.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, guaranteeing timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, presenting findings and strategies directly.
- Drive remediation efforts for any identified control deficiencies through collaborative efforts across functions.
- Continuously assess and enhance control processes to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
- Establish the global IFRS 15 policy for all complex revenue streams, ensuring strict compliance and consistency across the organization.
- Ensure accurate recognition of complex revenue streams in compliance with IFRS 15.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to provide guidance on contract structuring and implementation.
